“ Lord” is the Hebrew word for Jehovah and Jehovah means that God is eternal, self-sufficient, and self-existent. God is the God who created the heavens and the earth. These things have changed over time, but God does not change. God is the God who has no beginning and no end. In Malachi 3:6, God is referring to His attributes of patience, longsuffering, and mercy. In Malachi’s day, many of the people thought God would change. But God has always remained faithful to His promises.

“I the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.” Mal 3:6, NIV
Let us allow the word of God to dwell in us, and have it nearby where we can read it and meditate on it. Because if we don’t, we could be swept up in the deadly effects of our own fleshly desires, and fall into the tricks of satan. God is wherever we are. We cannot hide from God. He hears us, and He sees us no matter where we are. Even David was amazed at how God knew all about him and wrote about it in Psalm 139. “Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.” God knows that you are preparing to use your lips for gossip before you even speak. God’s Spirit and presence is everywhere. When I was in Abidjan, Africa, I marveled as I prepared to pray. I thought, “This is the same God that I pray to in Maryland.” It was an awesome revelation to really understand that God is everywhere.
When we are doing bad things, and when we are doing good things, God is there. When we give someone a piece of our mind for the sake of our own ego, God is there watching. Can you imagine, you are out on a date with a husband that is not yours, or you are out on a date with a wife that is not yours? God is there watching. If you change the price tag on an item in the store, God is there. If you purchase something and wear it for a night out on the town and return it to the store, God is watching. I know I am not talking about anybody reading this but, you may be able to tell this to someone else.
You can run from God, but you can’t hide from God. God is omnipresent, and God sees all. Be anxious for nothing because God is omniscient. God is knowing, and God understands your situation. We don’t have fear anything because God is omnipotent. God is all-powerful, and He can help us no matter what we are going through. The Bible says, “Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The unfailing love of the Lord never ends! By His mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each day" (Lam. 3:21-23).

Heavenly Father:
How excellent is Your name in all the earth. For You are a faithful God. Father, help me to be faithful in my walk with You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
