God shows Himself both gracious and just. He blots out our sins and transgressions. And afterwards, He chooses not to remember them. He gives us another chance to get it right.
Blot It Out!
I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. Isaiah 43:25 (
God shows Himself both gracious and just. He blots out our sins and transgressions. And afterwards, He chooses not to remember them. He gives us another chance to get it right. How many of us can do the same for others? God said,
"I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you" (Is 44:22)".
God makes blotting out the transgressions of others seem so easy. However when it comes to our turn, some of us find ourselves selectively forgiving and selectively remembering things that people have done to us.
Remember the old blotting paper? Well, let’s keep some blotting paper close by so that we can symbolically blot out “stuff” that we have been harboring against others. I know
I will!
Heavenly Father:
I praise You and magnify Your name. I thank You for blotting out my sins and transgressions. Help me to forgive and to blot out the transgressions of others. This I pray in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
